Autoradiography

Autoradiography for Preclinical Tissue Distribution

Radiolabeled ADME studies help characterize the distribution and disposition of drug-related material during preclinical development. Quantitative whole-body autoradiography (QWBA) provides spatial and quantitative information on tissue distribution, helping characterize where drug-related radioactivity distributes and how long it persists in tissues.

QWBA can be integrated with mass balance, bile duct cannulation (BDC), and metabolite profiling and identification studies to provide a more comprehensive understanding of drug disposition.

Quantitative Whole-Body Autoradiography

QWBA provides quantitative and qualitative assessment of radioactivity distribution across tissues following administration of a radiolabeled test article. These studies can help characterize tissue distribution and persistence, evaluate placental transfer, and support autoradiographic analysis of organs or tissues from larger animal species.

Capabilities include:

  • Quantitative and qualitative whole-body autoradiography
  • Tissue distribution assessment
  • Placental transfer studies
  • Large-animal organ or tissue autoradiography
  • Cryo-imaging and quantitative autoradiography (CIQA)
  • 2D and enhanced 3D image analysis
  • PK analysis and dosimetry calculations
  • Support for 14C- and 3H-labeled test articles

Integrated QWBA and Radiolabeled ADME Studies

QWBA can be integrated with radiolabeled mass balance and other ADME studies to provide complementary information on tissue distribution, excretion, and overall drug disposition. Integrated study designs can help characterize where drug-related radioactivity is distributed, how long it persists in tissues, and how it is eliminated.
